El periodista es hoy, más que nunca, depositario de un patrimonio que no es suyo; que es de la propia sociedad a la que sirve, y que exige credibilidad, confianza, honradez en el ejercicio de una profesión que ha de tener como objetivo la defensa de los valores democráticos y de los derechos de la persona. Tratar sobre la solidaridad y los medios de comunicación es reflexionar sobre la necesidad de información como un derecho humano básico que es propiedad de todos los ciudadanos, al que el periodista sirve y del que actúa como garante.
The journalist is today, more than ever, the repository of a patrimony that is not his; that it belongs to the society it serves, and that it requires credibility, trust, honesty in the exercise of a profession that must have as its objective the defense of democratic values and the rights of the person. To deal with solidarity and the media is to reflect on the need for information as a basic human right that is property of all citizens, to which the journalist serves and of which he acts as guarantor.
