El proceso de liberalización y la regulación de las telecomunicaciones en España

Abstract

Las telecomunicaciones constituyen, dentro de lo que se ha venido en denominar sociedad de la información y la comunicación, un fenómeno de evidente relevancia que está en la base de las profundas transformaciones sociales y económicas que están teniendo lugar en este fin de siglo. En este trabajo se reflejan las vinculaciones de esta realidad con el campo del Derecho, que en España ha traído como consecuencia la transformación de las facetas tradicionales de regulación de este sector, a lo largo de un cuidadoso proceso, que ha culminado con la reciente Ley General de Telecomunicaciones (LGT).

Telecommunications constitute, within what has come to be called the society of information and communication, a phenomenon of evident relevance which is on the basis of the deep social and economic transformations that are taking place in this end of century. In this work, the author shows the links of this reality with the Law field, which in Spain has resulted in the transformation of the traditional facets of regulation of this sector, throughout a thorough process, which has ended with the recent General Law of Telecommunications (GLT).
