Análisis de la variabilidad del espesor del epikarst en la Sierra de las Nieves (Málaga, SE de España) mediante sísmica de refracción

Abstract

El epikarst es una zona de alteración superficial de los macizos kársticos que ejerce un fuerte control sobre la variabilidad espacio-temporal de la recarga y condiciona, por tanto, el funcionamiento hidrogeológico de los acuíferos kársticos.Aunque durante los últimos años la comunidad científica ha hecho un notable esfuerzo en la mejora de su conocimiento, todavía se siguen desconociendo los patrones que condicionan su distribución espacial y desarrollo vertical. Con este trabajo se pretende contribuir al conocimiento de la variabilidad espacial del espesor del epikarst. Para alcanzar ese objetivo se ha realizado una campaña de sísmica de refracción en el sector oriental del acuífero de la Sierra de las Nieves (Málaga) de la que se presentan sus resultados e interpretación

The epikarst is the weathered top of the karstic massifs, which exerts a strong control of the spatiotemporal variability of recharge and therefore in the hydrogeological functioning of karst aquifers. Although, in recent years, the scientific community has made a major effort to improve their knowledge, are still unaware of the patterns that determine their degree of spatial development. This work aims to contribute to understanding the spatial variability of the epikarst thickness. To achieve this goal, we present the results of a seismic refraction survey. The proposed methodology has been applied in the eastern sector of the Sierra de las Nieves aquifer (Málaga)
