La ocupación del entorno rural de Onoba en época romana : la villa de “la Almagra“ (Huelva)

Abstract

En este trabajo se analiza la fase romana de un asentamiento de carácter rural localizado en la actual periferia del casco urbano de Huelva y que se caracteriza por la existencia de un continuum poblacional sobre el sitio que se evidencia desde época romana y hasta los años setenta del pasado siglo. A pesar de que las estructuras in situ se datan en la época bajoimperial, el registro cerámico obtenido nos habla de una instalación romana más amplia, funcionando al menos desde el siglo I a.C. y hasta el siglo VI d.C._________________________________________In this work, the Roman phase of a rural settlement located in the current periphery of Huelva and that is characterized by the existence of a population continuum on the site from Roman epoch until the seventies of last century, is analyzed. In spite of the fact that the archaeological structures conserved are from late Roman epoch, the pottery analyzed speaks us about a more wide Roman settlement working at least from the 1st century B.C. to the 6th century A.D.
