Este artículo estudia el nuevo regionalismo latinoamericano desde la perspectiva del contexto internacional. En primer lugar analiza las relaciones de poder la interdependencia económica y política de las agrupaciones regionales y subregionales latinoamericanas entre ellas y con el mundo. En segundo lugar, incluye en el análisis el marco de la globalización. Finalmente, aborda la ambivalente convivencia entre el regionalismo y la apertura multilateral del comercio mundial. Todo ello ayudará al lector a entender mejor la problemática actual de los procesos de integración en América Latina. _____________________________________In this paper, the author studies the new regionalism in the Americas from an international perspective. Firstly, he reviews power relations and economic political interdependence among the regional and sub-regional organization witch Latin America. Secondly, this analysis takes into consideration globalization. Finally, he presents the centrifugal and centripetal forces explaining the complex relationship between regionalism and the world trading system.
