La Unión Europea y Mercosur : ¿una relación de conveniencia?

Abstract

Este artículo se centra en encontrar los factores que refuerzan el mutuo interés entre dos de los más Importantes bloques económicos a nivel mundial: Unión Europea y MERCOSUR. Uno de estos factores es el posible paralelismo entre ambos procesos de integración aunque considerando las diferencias que existen entre ambos bloques. Por otra parte, MERCOSUR ha despertado un renovado interés en la UE convirtiéndose la Unión en el principal socio comercial del bloque, en e! segundo inversor directo después de USA y en el primer clonante en la zona con lo que las relaciones económicas entre ambos bloques han evolucionado favorablemente. _____________________________________This article is focused on finding the mutual interests and reinforcing factors between the two most important economic blocks on an international level: The EUROPEAN UNION and MERCASUR. One of the factors is a possible parallelism of their integration processes, but taking in account the existing differences between both blocks. On the others hand, MERCASUR has created a renewed interest in the EUROPEAN UNION, where the EU has become the main commercial associate of the block. It has also become the second direct investor after the USA and the first sponsor in the zone. Thus, the economic relations between both blocks have developed favourably.
