Traductores y comentaristas no están de acuerdo en la interpretación del párrafo 30 de la obra de Marciano Capela, donde Júpiter aparece consortio Iunonis, lo que Apolo interpreta como un omen favorable. Tampoco parecen, entonces, haber comprendido el valor de tabens del poema que precede a esta escena ni por qué Júpiter estaba elatior respecto a Juno en los pasajes 39 y 40. En nuestra opinión, visto que Apolo acude a sus padres para que aprueben el matrimonio de Mercurio con Filología, todo cobra sentido si se interpreta que los Júpiter y Juno estaban en pleno acto sexual.
Translators and critics do not agree on the interpretation of the 30th paragraph of the work of Marciano Capela, in which Jupiter appears consortio Iunonis (together with Juno), what Apollo understands as a favorable omen. It seems that they have not understood the value of the tables of the poem which precedes this scene, nor why Jupiter was elatior (sic) regarding Juno in the 39th and 40th passages. In our opinion, considering that Apollo went to his parents so that they approve the marriage of Mercury and Philology, everything makes sense if we interpret that Jupiter and Juno were in the middle of a sexual intercourse.
