Engrosamiento de la corteza y relieve intraplaca en el centro de Iberia

Abstract

A moderate thickening of the crust beneath the Spanish Central System has been determined by means of a wide angle seismic experiment. The value of this thickening — 5 km in form of 3 km of the Moho topography, 2 km of surface relief — is coherent with the surface model of intracontinental distributed deformation already described. In addition, the present model is in agreement with the intraplate uplift, the reverse faults that bound the relief and to some extent with the intrap/ate shortening of Iberia

Mediante un experimento sísmico de gran angular se ha determinado un leve engrosamiento de la corteza bajo el Sistema Central español. El valor de este engrosamiento —5km en forma de 3km de la topografía Moho, 2km de la superficie del relieve— es coherente con el modelo de superficie de la deformación distribuida continental ya descrita. Además, el presente modelo está de acuerdo con el levantamiento intraplaca, las fallas opuestas que limitan el relieve y, de algún modo, la deducción de la intraplaca de Iberia.
