dc.description.abstract | "Red Soil" is a nomenclature widely employed in soil classifications and by many researchers. In this paper we studied how red color is used in soil classifications, we emphasized in the most important of them : "Soil Taxonom y", the FA O -UNESCO Legend and Réferentiel Pédologique Française. These classifications use red color at different level of generalization; Soil Taxonomy at Great Group categorie, FAO-UNESCO legend at Soil Unit level, and Référentiel Pédologique Français at firt level because color is used as diagnostic crité rium of "Horizon de reference". Red soils in the mediterranean en vironments are only a portion of the red soils whole range | en_US |
