The Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility (AMS) of some wealdian siltstones outcroping in the eastern border of the Sierra de Cameros (NW Iberian Chain) has been analyzed in order to stablish its correlation with strain. In all the analyzed sites the magnetic fabric can be related with structural indicators.
Directional data of the susceptibility ellipsoid show a good correlation with the principal directions of the strain ellipsoid: Kmin parallel to Z direction and the magnetic lineation (grouping of Kmax) is closely related with the X direction in those sites where triaxial ellipsoids are dominant.
Strain analysis carried out on deformed nodules included within wealdian siltstones has also revealed a close relationship between the shape of both AMS and strain ellipsoids in low strain conditions
