They are located within the Cultural Park of River Martin, being one of the current prominent scentific values of this protected area. They have also been the reference point for many classical palaeontological (Systematic, biostratigraphic, palaeoecologic) monographs and stand as the type-locality for some ammonite and bivalve taxa. Main risks affecting these outcrops are the destruction and uncontrolled fossil collecting. Protective measures would involve the efficient management of the park, and intense and long work of social awareness}, publisher = {Sociedad Geológica de España}, keywords = {Palaeontological heritage}, keywords = {Jurassic}, keywords = {Iberian Range}, keywords = {Sierra de Arcos}, keywords = {Geoconservation}, keywords = {Cultural Park}, keywords = {Social concern}, title = {EI patrimonio paleontológico de Teruel: yacimientos de invertebrados jurásicos de Sierra de Arcos}, title = {Palaeontological heritage of Teruel (Spain): evaluating Jurassic invertebrate fossil sites from the Sierra de Arcos area}, author = {Meléndez Hevia, Guillermo and Bello Villalba, J. and Delvene, G. and Pérez Urresti, I. and Ramajo Cordero, Javier and Soria, M.}, }
