abstract = {The aim of this paper is to formally review the lithostratigraphy of the
Pennsylvanian Lena Group in the Piedrafita-Lillo sector (Central Asturian
Coalfield, Cantabrian Zone, NE León), providing new hypostratotypes for
the Fresnedo Formation (Bashkirian), Levinco Formation (Vereian/Kashirian),
Llanón Formation (Kashirian) and Tendeyón Formation (Kashirian/Podolskian).
These lithostratigraphic units were deposited in a foreland setting
and are dominated by siliciclastics (prodelta/shelf and delta-front sediments)
and shallow-water marine carbonates},
