abstract = {In this article, the author raises the topic of how the curriculum is a context of communication and the classrooms are communicative settings where education is oriented towards the learning of communication. In these lines, he reflects about the linguistic abilities which are needed for an adequate development of students’ communicative competence. Accordingly, in his opinion, it is also fundamental to orientate some of the educative tasks in the classroom towards the study of verbal and non-verbal strategies which inhabit media texts, as a consequence of the incidence of these texts in his ideas about the world. The final aim is none other but an integrating, open and flexible education.},
