abstract = {En los últimos años hemos observado cómo el
número de campos de golf en la Comunidad
Autónoma de Andalucía (España) ha aumentado
de forma exponencial. Este deporte se ha
convertido en uno de los productos con mayor
peso específi co en la oferta turística andaluza,
con importantes repercusiones económicas en
este territorio. Es por ello que se ha generado
un debate social en torno a las posibles
consecuencias medioambientales de los campos
de golf, en un intento por compatibilizar
desarrollo económico y respeto por el entorno
natural. Este debate ha propiciado la generación
de un contexto fuertemente institucionalizado
que infl uye directamente en las políticas de
protección medioambiental de este tipo de
organizaciones. El presente trabajo pretende
analizar este contexto y las principales prácticas
que de él se derivan.},

the Autonomous Community of Andalusia
(Spain) has increased exponentially. This

with greater importance in tourist offer
of Andalusia, with signifi cant economic
impact in this territory. That is why there
is a social debate about the environmental
consequences of golf courses, in an attempt
to reconcile economic development and
respect for the natural environment. This
debate has led to the generation of a highly
institutionalized context that directly affects
the environmental protection policies of
such organizations. This paper aims to
analyze the context and key practices derived
