The sedimentary filling of the Guadalquivir Basin along its central sector during Tortonian consists of fluvial/deltaic fades, which are recurrently cut by several transgressive pulses. The study of the sequential arragement of these deposits, also called Transgressive Basal Complex, lead us to differentiate three relative orders of transgressive-regressive cyclicity: minor, intermediate and mayor order cycles. The basic building blocks are the "fundamental sequences" which are associated to intermediate order cycles. Controlling factors of this sequences can be found among eustatic raises, tectonic activity, climatic changes and relative accumulation rates of sedimentary supply
