Abstract

The Sedimentary Facies Associations in the Meridional Border ofthe Central Coal Basin of Asturias (Cantabrian Zone, NW Spain) are characterized. Vertical and lateral distribution of these Facies Associations is also studied. The southward evolution of the sedimentary environments is stressed by the cuneiform character of the mixed (lutitic and carbonate) platform and by the fan-deltaic deposits
